A taste of Kerala in Cape Town
I started SADYA when I missed my parents comfort food – I missed the food that ‘hit the spot’ & made me feel loved.
In 2019, I created SADYA. I started off cooking a few dishes & sharing those dishes with my co-workers – they loved it! Over the next few years, my love of homestyle cooking grew and so did my customers! Cooking my childhood dishes evoked such beautiful memories of my family & upbringing – this brought me so much joy & purpose!
At the end of 2022, I realized I needed to focus on SADYA fulltime. So in January of 2023, I quit 15 years of corporate to pursue my passion of creating authentic Kerala dishes in Cape Town!
In December 2023, I was blessed with an opportunity to travel to Kerala & attend Chavara Institute of Kochi’s Hotel Management course; this further ignited my love for cooking (and eating) South Indian dishes!
SADYA is my culture – SADYA is a part of me! I’m so grateful to my parents for showing me love through food! As my Appa always says, the main ingredient in my dishes is LOVE! 🙂
SADYA offers you South Indian dishes made with love – fresh & frozen!
I also offer cooking classes in my kitchen or yours, Curry & Wine experiences and catering for a small private group of up to 60 people.
P.S I’m not a sit-down restaurant 🙂 I’m a small home business that serves fresh & frozen South Indian dishes. You’ll be to sure to find almost all my dishes in stock – fresh or frozen!
